Raw mouldings can be used in a variety of ways: painted, patinated, waxed, gilded or left natural. Ideal for the creative framer.
Ayous (sometimes called "obeche") is a light yellowish, soft and light wood with no grain. Ayous trees grow in West Africa.
Due to its resistance to heat and humidity, its lightness and the absence of knots, ayous is widely used for frames.
The defect of the ayous consists in the possibility of being attacked by woodworms. For this reason the ayous mouldings must undergo an anti-woodworm treatment. In fact, all Rinaldin ayous mouldings are treated against woodworm.
