Attention!! This tape is NOT recommended for attaching the paper or cardboard framework to the mat as it is NOT acid-free. Acids contained in the tape could over time migrate into the framed painting and alter it.
Another negative effect can be that, over time, the ribbon mark may become visible on the front of the mat, especially if the mat is made of lightweight card stock.
To fix the paper framework to the passepartout, an acid-free adhesive tape such as Filmoplast is recommended.
