Champ4 fixing machine, base model without accessories
The Champ4 manual punching machine can mainly be used to perform two different operations:
• Apply certain toothed hangers to the frame support (cardboard, hardboard, MDF, etc.)
• Apply a hinge between the back of a photo frame and its support.
The basic model of the punching machine is supplied without accessories. Accessories must be purchased separately according to your needs.

APPLICATION OF HANGERS
The hangers that work with the Champ4 are:
1401, 1408, 1428, 1439.
These hangers have holes with sharp points that penetrate the cardboard holding it firmly.
To apply the hangers you need a specific disc:
For the hanger 1401 you need the disc C1401
For the hanger 1408 you need the disc C1408
For the hanger 1428 you need the disc C1428
For the hanger 1439 you need the disc C1439
Obviously it is not necessary to buy all the discs. You can only order those you need. Other discs can be ordered later when needed.
The machine must also be applied:
• Base plate for hangers: code C6235
• Guide system for centering the carton: code C4GUID40
To apply the hanger you need to perform these operations:
• Place the hanger on the disc
• Place the cardboard (or hardboard etc.) on the plate
• Lower the lever on which the disc that pushes the cardboard against the hanger is located. The sharp points of the hanger thus penetrate inside the cardboard and cling to it.

APPLICATION OF THE HINGES
The hinges that can be applied with the Champ4 are:
• 622 1-hole hinge suitable for small backrests
• 234 Hinges with 2 holes of mm 28 for back panels in soft material
• 2341 Hinges with 2 holes of mm 28 for back panels in hard material
• 239 Hinges with 2 holes of mm 34 for backrests produced by Craft USA
For each type of hinge you need a special accessory called a "stop" that keeps the hinge locked during application.
The stops are:
Stop C6234 suitable for hinges 234 and 2341
Stop C6239 suitable for hinges 239
Latch C6220 suitable for hinge 622
It is not necessary to purchase all the fasteners. You can only order those you need. Other stops can be ordered later when needed.
To be able to apply the hinges you also need the following accessories:
• Base plate for hinges - code C6236
• Hammer punch for hinges - code C6237
• The guide used to position the backrest and its support - code C4GUID30
To apply the hinges, these operations must be carried out in sequence:
• Place the hinge on the stop.
• Place the back rest support (ie the "tie") under the hinge.
• Rest the backrest (or hardboard etc.) over the hinge with the help of the special guide C4GUID30.
• Lower the lever on which the disc that pushes the backrest against the tie is located. The sharp points of the hinge thus penetrate into the backrest and into the tie, hinging them together.
