Logan 301 mount cutter
"Logan 301" cutter for bevel passepartout cutting.
Cutting capacity 73 cm.
It uses Logan L270 blades.
The "Logan 301" cutter consists of:
• Cutting base of 81 x 20.5 cm. Thickness cm 2
• L2000 cutter for 45° bevel cutting
• L500 cutter for vertical cutting at 90°.
• 5 L270 blades included.
The aluminum cutting guide is applied to the cutting base to which the L2000 manual cutter for bevel cutting or the L500 cutter for vertical cutting is attached. The cutting guide is fixed to the base by means of two hinges which allow it to be lifted.
For measuring the width of the passepartout there is a measuring rod which runs over two parallel oblique slots and which can be fixed with two screw knobs. A graduated scale engraved in the center of the base facilitates measurement.
A detailed instruction manual is included (in English but with precise illustrations that make it easier to understand even for those who don't know English).
Precise and detailed instructions can also be found on the Logan website www.logangraphic.com.
The cutter is suitable for photographers, artists, students, hobbyists and framers who do not have a large volume of work.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
For the external cut (vertical, not bevelled) proceed as follows:
1) With the pencil trace the marks of the external cut on the cardboard.
2) If necessary, remove the measuring rod (that is, the rod that slides along the two parallel oblique slots).
3) Hook the vertical cut knife (L500) into the cutting guide to slide it.
4) Carry out the cut by dragging the knife towards you.
For the bevel cut of the internal hole proceed as follows:
1) If you had previously removed the measuring bar (i.e. the bar that slides along the two parallel oblique slots) reinstall it.
2) Adjust the width of the mat by positioning the measuring bar at the desired size using the millimeter diagram which is engraved in the cutting base.
3) Put a strip of waste cardboard under the passepartout to be cut. In this way you will not affect the cutting plane and you will get a better cut. Note that no waste cardboard is needed for vertical cutting.
4) With the front of the mat facing down, place the cardboard against the measuring bar.
5) Trace the cutting line with a pencil.
6) Repeat the operation on the other three sides so that the lines intersect in the corners.
7) If you haven't done so yet, apply the two plates that are used to hook it to the cutting guide to the cutter.
8) Hook the L2000 manual cutter to the appropriate cutting guide.
9) Position the cutter at the starting point indicated by a small line on the cutter itself. The line must coincide with the line of the adjacent side that you drew with the pencil. A measuring scale located at the beginning of the cutting guide can make this easier.
10) With your thumb, lower the blade so that it penetrates the cardboard.
11) Push the cutter forward uniformly up to the end-of-cut point determined by the coincidence of the line of the cutter with the line of the adjacent side that you traced with the pencil.
12) Repeat the operation for the other three sides.
