The "Multipoint" tabs are used with the Fletcher MultiMaster Stapler. They are flexible and therefore allow you to remove and replace the cardboard on the back of the frame without using tools.
They cover a greater surface than traditional slats and therefore have a greater seal; as a result, the amount needed for each frame is reduced. The two specially shaped points stick firmly into the wood.
The 4.5 mm hole in the center allows the slat to be used to fix two frames together with a screw, one inside the other, when necessary (especially when thick objects need to be framed). Simply shoot the slat into the outside of the inside bezel and screw a screw into the hole in the slat on the outside bezel.
